Characterized by No Depression as “the future of bluegrass”, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road twine innovation, tradition, and excellence into a unique musical experience. Though only in his 23rd year, North Carolina’s Liam Purcell has already established a name for himself in the world of American Stringband music. Growing up less than a mile away from the legendary guitarist Doc Watson, Purcell was steeped in Appalachian Old-Time and Bluegrass traditions from an early age. Taking inspiration from the local Deep Gap legacy, Liam began writing, performing, and storytelling from an early age.
Jason Morton and The Chesapeake Sons owes their geographical roots to the Atlantic seaboard, but its sonic heritage connects the band firmly to The Black Crowes, the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the Marshall Tucker Band. With Jason Morton and The Chesapeake Sons, a 10-track collection on indie Copperline Music Group, the four-piece ensemble blends effusive melodies, fierce musicianship, convicted vocals, and smart lyrics in a diverse song stew that dips – in Southern-rock fashion – into rock, blues, country, gospel, and even psychedelia.
Mixing Appalachian traditions and an innovative edge, the Jeff Little Trio delivers high-energy shows fueled by amazing musicianship. Rooted in music from the Blue Ridge mountains, Jeff’s virtuosic piano drives their remarkable sound. Award winning musicians Steve Lewis and Luke Little provide intricate guitar, banjo and mandolin. Together they bridge past and present, resonating both history and innovation. From NPR to international stages, their shows have captivated audiences across the globe.
