December 16 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Featuring artists Kelly Bell Band, Jenny Langer & Moonshine Society, Ron Holloway, and Carly Harvey!
Kelly Bell Band- Originally formed as the back-up band for rock and roll pioneer, Bo Diddley, KBB has been voted the Top Blues Band in Baltimore for 12 years running. Fronted by a professional wrestler, well-known Baltimore radio personality, and special education teacher who arose from inner-city Washington, DC, the story of Kelly Bell (and his stories on stage) will keep you fascinated from the opening note. They have passed the 100,000 record sales mark, still as an independent band, and have been touring with acts as diverse as Maroon 5, Ziggy Marley, Buddy Guy, G Love & Special Sauce, James Brown, Edwin McCain, and many more!
Jenny Langer & Moonshine Society- Your annual Blues-A-Palooza hosts and winner of the International Blues Challenge (IBC- Best Album) and two Wammies. Of like minds and musical passions, they united in 2009 to create their own brand of soulful blues, roots rock and old-school R&B- if a fundamental definition is actually required. In truth, they teamed to craft their own formula of music that speaks to the soul and defies the labels of traditional musical confines. Leading the troupe is impassioned, soulful singer and songwriter Jenny Langer, who has shared the stage with such musical greats as Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks and Jack Pearson of Allman Brothers fame, Susan Tedeschi, Gov’t Mule, Dave Koz, Sheila E., and Jimmy Vivino from Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Ron Holloway- Ron Holloway is one of the busiest tenor saxophonists on today’s music scene in any genre! Recently, Ron toured extensively with The Warren Haynes Band, in support of two critically acclaimed releases on the Stax Records label. Holloway is a frequent guest of Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band and The Allman Brothers Band. Over the years, he has been a member of an eclectic roster of groups, including; The Warren Haynes Band, the Susan Tedeschi Band, the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet, Gil Scott-Heron and Root Boy Slim.
Carly Harvey- Based out of Washington, DC, Carly Harvey combines Blues, Jazz, Soul and Americana roots styles to create a unique sound that calls to mind Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, and Nina Simone, with a little Ella Fitzgerald thrown in for good measure. In July 2018, Carly was featured in Big City Blues Magazine as one of the youngest Blues artists to watch. She has had the privilege of sharing the stage with iconic musicians including Annika Chambers, Ron Holloway, Kebbie Williams, Ephraim Owens, Cory Henry, Kofi Burbridge, Junior Marvin, and Susan Tedeschi – an artist whose work has been foundational to her musical evolution. She is a two-time D.C. Blues Society Battle of the Bands Winner (Duo – 2016, Band – 2018) and was proclaimed D.C.’s Queen of the Blues in 2016 by Dr. Nick Johnson of WPFW Radio.
