Helms\, a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Franklin County of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia\, grew up in an underground home built by his late father. Inspired at age 12 by the music played at his father’s funeral\, he taught himself guitar\, banjo\, and mandolin. By 16\, he was performing throughout the Appalachian region\, and by 18 had begun writing Tales of Misfortune\, his upcoming semi-autobiographical debut album on Photo Finish Records (January 2024). The record explores themes of loss\, perseverance\, and his journey toward becoming a touring musician\, with songs rooted in his mountain upbringing and personal story. He is managed by Dolphus Ramseur and booked by New Frontier Touring. \n \nKitchen Sink\nKitchen Sink is a North Carolina–based jamgrass band led by upright bassist Derek Lane. Blending bluegrass roots with funk\, psychedelic\, and improvisational influences\, they deliver high-energy shows filled with harmonies\, inventive arrangements\, and spontaneous jams. Known for making every performance feel like a family gathering\, the band has sold out a Billy Strings afterparty and shared the stage with bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs. True to their name\, Kitchen Sink throws in a little bit of everything—creating a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable. \n \nLiam Purcell & Cane Mill Road\nHailing from Deep Gap\, NC\, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road blend bluegrass tradition with bold innovation\, earning praise from No Depression as “the future of bluegrass.” At just 23\, Purcell has already carved out a remarkable career—growing up near Doc Watson’s homeplace\, forming Cane Mill Road as a teen\, and leading the group to charting albums\, a devoted fanbase\, and the 2019 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year Award. \nA Berklee College of Music graduate and winner of the Rockygrass Instrumental Championships on mandolin\, banjo\, and guitar (the first ever to sweep multiple categories)\, Purcell continues to push stringband music forward. With their latest album Yellow Line on Pinecastle Records\, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road carry Appalachian roots into new territory—storytelling with authenticity while breaking boundaries of genre and style. Now based in Nashville\, Purcell tours nationally\, channeling his mountain upbringing into every performance. \n \n  \n\n\n$30/$35 \nBuy now \n\n\n
