SUMMARY:Dave Keller Band
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nThis Saturday\, join us at Flat Iron Crossroads for a night of Vermont Soul and Blues with Dave Keller Band! The show will be indoors starting at 6:30pm. The doors and food truck\, Shore Bites\, will open at 5:30pm. We serve wine\, beer\, seltzers\, and soda at the FIX Bar. Seating is available first come first serve. Our venue is family friendly with free entry for kids ages 12 and under. \nDave Keller has made quite a name for himself. He’s earned three Blues Music Award nominations for Best Soul Blues Album of the Year (2014\, 2019\, 2021). He won the International Blues Challenge’s Best Self-Produced Album Award (2012). He and his band tour constantly\, performing at top festivals and venues throughout the U.S. and Europe\, winning fans one livewire show at a time. \nThirty years ago\, in the icy mountains of Vermont\, Dave Keller set forth to play the music he loved: deep Blues. Self-taught as a singer\, and armed with an old Yamaha acoustic guitar\, Keller learned his lessons on the bandstand. Within a few years\, he had switched to electric\, put together a funky trio\, and was gigging throughout New England. Turns out he had a knack for making people feel good. And writing memorable songs. Before long he had a small army of loyal fans. \nAlong the way\, he fell in love with Memphis Soul. Mentors appeared. Mighty Sam McClain\, one of the very deepest Soul/Blues singers\, befriended Keller. Legendary guitarist Ronnie Earl (Roomful of Blues) invited Keller to sing and co-write with him (2010’s Living In The Light). Robert Ward\, the mystic guitarist of Dry Branch\, Georgia\, struck up a friendship with Keller as well. And during the past decade\, Keller has performed regularly with his close friend Mississippi Soul/Blues master Johnny Rawls. \nSo many unforgettable experiences: backing up Fontella Bass of “Rescue Me” fame\, recording with Al Green’s original Hi Rhythm Section\, hanging out in the studio with Bobby “Blue” Bland. \nToday\, Keller is a more than just a torchbearer for the music he loves. He is an award-winning recording artist\, a powerful performer\, and a top-notch songwriter\, bringing his thrilling shows to stages around the world. \n[/embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejHyjSJGX2I&t=2s[/embed] \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Mean Mary with Frank James
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nOn Saturday\, October 19th\, International touring musician\, Mean Mary\, and her brother\, Frank James\, will appear at Flat Iron Crossroads on Saturday\, October 19th in Gloucester\, VA. This special performance will be part of Mary’s “Woman Creature Tour”! There will be some brand-new songs plus many old favorites as well. \nThe show is set to be indoors with patio access. Doors open at 5:30pm and the show starts at 6:30pm. Arrive early for dinner with the food truck\, Shore Bites. Adult beverages are available at the FIX Bar. \nAbout the opener\nTidewater Bluegrass Revival was formed by five friends from Virginia Beach\, VA\, driven by a deep passion for music. They revive the spirit of old-time tunes for Bluegrass fans\, seamlessly blending tradition with heart to capture the soul of classic Americana\, while also incorporating fresh\, contemporary songs. Whether commanding the stage or gathering around a campfire\, the band is dedicated to keeping the roots of Bluegrass alive and flourishing for a new generation. \nAbout Mean Mary\nWhen Mary was four years old her family moved from sunny Florida to North Minnesota\, near the Canadian border\, to rough it in the wilds. They lived in a tent built from a roll of Visqueen\, while they built a log cabin using only an axe\, handsaws\, and the trees around them. They cooked their food on a campfire\, got their water from a deep hole they had dug\, and read at night by the northern lights shining through the clear walls of their plastic tent. \nMary’s oldest brother\, Jim\, who had just joined the Navy\, sent the family a guitar and a compilation tape of songs he liked. With a battery-powered tape player\, the family listened to the music of Hank Williams\, Jr.\, and Dolly Parton. It wasn’t long before Mary was singing the songs and vocalizing all the instrumentation. Seeing her talent\, Mom and Dad bought guitar books\, and Mom started teaching Mary and her siblings how to play the guitar. Mary and her brother Frank (the two youngest of six) were the ones who would turn music into a career. \nMary learned to read music before she could read words and was an official singer/songwriter before she had started her first day of kindergarten. With the help of her mom\, she wrote her theme song “Mean Mary from Alabam’” (Mary was officially born in Geneva\, Alabama). The press immediately baptized her with this handle\, and she has been Mean Mary ever since. \nToday she produces music\, produces videos (her YouTube videos have received over 34 million views)\, tours extensively in the US and overseas\, co-writes books with her mom\, Jean James (their mystery novel\, Wherefore Art Thou\, Jane\, won first place in the Reader’s Favorite International Book Awards)\, and Mary is an endorsing artist for Deering Banjos. The Deering’s named her their Goodtime Ambassador\, and Janet Deering describes her banjo playing as giving her “chills.” Equally versatile on guitar\, fiddle\, and 8 other instruments\, Mary is known as a high-energy performer with lightning-fast fingers and an unmistakable vocal sound … and as a songwriter that thrives on variety and unusual subject matters. There is not room here to tell the whole life story of Mean Mary\, but if you would like to know more you can read her full bio on her website: https://meanmary.com/bio or just listen to her music—it’s all there. \nFor album commentary\, tour dates\, and more visit https://meanmary.com/home \n \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Good Shot Judy
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nTHE SWING AND THE SWAGGER…\nIt’s hard to nail an exact moment when Good Shot Judy came to life. \nIt could have been when brothers Brett and Jeff Cahoon stepped away from the success they’d achieved with their punk band Ten Years from Now and chose instead to see what they could do with the old-time jazz standards they’d admired for so long. The brothers Cahoon formed a small combo\, and – wouldn’t you know it? – plenty of others felt the same groove. \nOr maybe it was when an inside joke made a name for itself. Their mother\, Judy Cahoon\, is an avid golfer\, and just as common as pars and birdies were three words of encouragement shouted by a supportive friend\, who pumped a fist and hollered across the fairway every time she took a swing: “Good shot\, Judy!” It became a funny family warble among the Cahoons – and as it turns out\, a solid band name\, too. \nOr perhaps that moment of creation arrived when Good Shot Judy freed their potential energy. Keen to give the classic melodies the respect and attention – as well as the power – that it deserved\, the Cahoons filled out Good Shot Judy with a full complement of horns\, percussion and vocals. And magic happened: an ensemble that was bigger than the sum of its parts. \nIn a sense\, Good Shot Judy was already in the stars long ago\, during those formative decades from the 1930s on\, when small jazz combos\, big brass bands and the crooners who sang on top of them were forging an enduring style and repertoire that would be written into the DNA of American music. \nBut really\, all these had a hand in making Good Shot Judy what is today: a big amp jazz band that sets stages aflame nationwide. \nAudiences may never consider that the Good Shot Judy show they’re seeing has been an evolution. They’re too captivated by the sound and spectacle of music that reaches through the time. They’re too caught up in performance that has one foot dancing in the past and one in the here and now. \nA Good Shot Judy show offers all those tunes you know just from growing up in American – songs you can at least hum along to\, if you don’t outright know most of the words. But the music itself is only part of the band’s allure; there’s something electric in the execution\, and it’s that vigor that carries the day as much as the pull of recognition. \nSo\, yeah\, there’s a history. And it’s a big one. Bigger than any one person. Bigger than any one band\, for that matter. But Good Shot Judy is as close as it comes to an intersection between an era’s defining sound and the pleasure of enjoying it the way it was meant to be heard. \nLET’S SWING IT\, BABY… \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n

SUMMARY:The Boneshakers
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nThe Boneshakers are performing in Gloucester\, VA on 7/6/2024 starting at 6:30pm. Arrive as early at 5:30pm to claim your spot and order dinner with Bouncin’ Bouy’s food truck. This show is outdoors – bring a lawn chair\, blanket\, and yes – bug spray. Flat Iron serves wine\, beer\, and seltzers at the bar. Children ages 10 & under are free. \nIn the remarkable 25 year career of The Boneshakers\, the iconic band has always been led by world-renowned guitarist\, Randy Jacobs of Was (Not Was). Their sound is a blend of funk\, blues\, and rock\, coupled with powerful vocals by Jenny Langer that marries the sounds and spirits of Detroit Rock City\, Memphis\, and Mussel Shoals… \n \nHow The Boneshakers came to be… \nSTORIED CAREER Flashback to 1980 — During his maiden session for Don and David Was\, Randy Jacobs meets Sweetpea Atkinson on a cold night in the Motor City at Sound Suite Studio (the recording home of the fledgling band Was (Not Was). The connection was immediate and a bond was forged between the two artists. Their combined talents would help Was (Not Was) become a successful act during the 80’s and into the early 90’s cumulating with the worldwide hit “Walk The Dinosaur” co-written by Jacobs. After their European tour with Dire Straits in 1992\, the Was Band went on hiatus and Randy started playing and recording with the likes of Bonnie Raitt\, BB King\, Seal\, Paula Abdul\, Kris Kristofferson\, Ofra Haza\, Tears For Fears\, Warren Hill and others. Sweetpea was in Los Angeles adding background vocals to artists like Neil Diamond\, Bonnie Raitt\, Keb Mo\, and Bob Segar. When Atkinson heard the Jacobs was putting together a new project\, he jumped at the chance to be a part of it. It was Bonnie Raitt who inadvertently gave them their name “Boneshakers” while they were working on her “Longing In Our Hearts” CD. In 1996\, the two were signed to Pointblank/Virgin Records and produced two CDs for the label: “Book Of Spells” (1997) which included Randy’s rockin’ swing arrangement of James Brown’s “Cold Sweat” and the powerful “Shake The Planet” (1998). Over the years\, The Boneshakers released another four successful albums. Additionally\, they joined forces with sax queen Mindi Abair and released Live in Seattle on Concord Records. Two more albums were credited to Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers: The EastWest Sessions (2017) and All I Got for Christmas Is the Blues (2018). In 2020\, the band suffered an unimaginable loss with news of the passing of Sweetpea. \nTHE LEGACY CONTINUES Now in 2022\, as The Boneshakers celebrate the 25th anniversary of their first release\, a new energy and excitement has emerged. Producer John Wooler\, who originally signed The Boneshakers in 1997\, connected Randy and the incredible Jenny Langer- a powerhouse singer who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame (NYC and VA) at the age of 28 and won the 2020 Int’l Blues Challenge for Best SelfProduced Album. What started as a few tracks for her project quickly morphed in a new album with The Boneshakers featuring no-holds-barred funk\, blues\, and rock that marries the sounds and spirits of Detroit Rock City\, Memphis\, and Mussel Shoals. Produced by Wooler\, it is back to the original vision of The Boneshakers’ fiery sound\, with the vocal dynamo Jenny Langer behind the mic and original musicians from “The Book Of Spells” Sergio Gonzales (Drums)\, Nathan Brown (Bass)\, Jon Gilutin (Keys)\, The Texacali Horns (Joe Sublett\, Mark Pender\, and Randy’s former band mate from Was (Not Was) Sir Harry Bowens on vocals. \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n

SUMMARY:The Nick Moss Band with Dennis Gruenling
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nSince first forming The Nick Moss Band Featuring Dennis Gruenling in 2016\, master blues guitarist Nick Moss and world class harmonica virtuoso Dennis Gruenling have become torchbearers for traditional electric blues. But rather than repeating what’s come before\, the band’s high-energy take on old school Chicago\, Texas and West Coast sounds is completely their own. With their new Alligator Records album (their third for the label)\, Get Your Back Into It!\, Chicago native Moss and New Jersey native Gruenling—together with Rodrigo Mantovani on bass\, Taylor Streiff on keyboards and Pierce Downer on drums—deliver a deeply rooted\, timeless blue collar blues album. \nAllMusic says the band\, winners of the 2020 Blues Music Award for Blues Band Of The Year\, “makes the case for the vitality of old-fashioned Chicago electric blues in the 21st century.” They are among the world’s very best old school blues ensembles\, with each musician expertly playing off the others. “We are a rare breed as far as how authentic we like to keep the music\,” says Moss. The guitarist proudly represents the city of Chicago as one of the few bluesmen working today to have learned his craft firsthand\, directly from many of the genre’s original creators.\nGet Your Back Into It! was produced by Moss and Mantovani and contains fourteen original songs: twelve by Moss and two by Gruenling. Guests include saxophonist “Sax” Gordon Beadle and\, on Out Of The Woods\, organist “Brother” John Kattke. The album is inspired by the electrifying blues sounds of 1940s through 1960s\, and is performed with taste\, restraint\, sly humor and pure joy. The stylistically distinct songs—including three wild instrumentals that simply dare you to stay seated—are all connected by Moss’ and Gruenling’s shared musical vision. “We like to push ourselves out of our comfort zone\,” Moss says of the songs and performances on the new album\, “and I feel like we accomplished that.” \nFrom the life lessons espoused in The Bait In The Snare\, Losing Ground and Choose Wisely to the hard blues of Aurelie and Living In Heartache to the lighthearted ode to the band’s Brazilian bass player\, It Shocks Me Out\, Moss makes clear\, in addition to his unparalleled guitar work and soulful singing voice\, he is also an award-winning songwriter with the rare Willie Dixon-like ability to write and sing the blues’ honest truth.\nAuthenticity has never been a problem for Moss\, who first made a name for himself playing bass for bluesman Jimmy “Fast Fingers” Dawkins. Dawkins encouraged Nick to unleash his fire and passion. From there\, Moss was chosen by Willie “Big Eyes” Smith to join his Legendary Blues Band\, but Smith insisted Moss switch to guitar. Blues icon Jimmy Rogers (whose best known songs included Walking By Myself and Ludella) hired Moss as his touring guitarist\, mentoring him on the blues lifestyle along the way. Today\, Moss’ blistering fretwork\, impassioned\, soul-charged vocals and memorable original songs place him in a league of his own. \nGrowing up in Chicago and standing tall at 6’2”\, the teenage Moss dreamed of playing both music and sports. His mother was a huge blues fan\, even taking a young Nick to see Muddy Waters live in concert. At 18\, sudden emergency kidney surgery sidelined his athletic hopes and left the youngster feeling blue. To lift his spirits\, Nick’s brother snuck him out of the hospital to see Alligator artists Little Charlie & The Nightcats perform. Nick was blown away by the show and by meeting the band\, and it was then and there that he decided on a career as a bluesman. After his years working with and learning from true blues royalty\, Nick formed his first band in 1997 and released his debut album a year later on his own independent Blue Bella label. Since then\, he’s earned legions of fans\, playing over 100 shows a year. Moss has shared stages with Buddy Guy\, Kenny Wayne Shepherd\, Gary Clark\, Jr.\, David Hidalgo and many others\, and is an in-demand guest\, always welcome to sit in with his musician friends around the world. He and the band have crisscrossed the United States and Canada multiple times\, and have performed in the UK\, Norway\, Belgium\, France\, Spain\, Latvia\, Poland and other European countries.\nDennis Gruenling\, Moss’ friend of over 20 years\, is considered among today’s most innovative and creative blues harmonica players. His high-energy\, full-throttle reed work has earned him comparisons to many of the greats\, including the late James Cotton. As a teen\, he heard the Alligator recording Harp Attack! (a summit meeting of Cotton\, Junior Wells\, Carey Bell and Billy Branch) and decided that blues harmonica was his life’s calling. In addition to Cotton\, Gruenling was inspired by blues harp masters Little Walter and George “Harmonica” Smith as well as by saxophonists\, including Lester Young and Red Prysock. A self-taught player and a natural entertainer with seven solo albums and numerous guest appearances to his credit\, Gruenling’s giant\, fat-toned harp work\, raw-boned singing and untamed energy are a perfect foil for Moss’ inspired guitar playing and straight-from-the-shoulder blues vocals. Vintage Guitar says\, “Gruenling’s harp\, along with the Midwestern intensity of Moss’ blues guitar\, is pure ecstasy.”\nWith the release of their Alligator Records debut\, The High Cost Of Low Living\, in 2018\, The Nick Moss Band Featuring Dennis Gruenling announced their arrival\, as fans and critics were amazed by the band’s dynamic sound. 2019’s Lucky Guy! took them even higher\, as the album hit blues radio by storm\, finishing Top 10 on the Living Blues Radio Chart’s Top 50 Albums of 2019. Internationally\, the album peaked on blues charts at #1 in Australia\, #3 in France and #7 in the UK. Songs from Lucky Guy! were also prominently featured on BBC2 in Britain and CBC in Canada. The title track became one of the most played songs on SiriusXM’s Bluesville. Additionally\, Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour invited the band to perform live on its nationally syndicated public radio broadcast. \nMoss\, Gruenling and the band have received a total of five Blues Music Awards\, with wins in 2020 for Band Of The Year\, Song Of The Year (Lucky Guy) and Traditional Blues Album Of The Year (Lucky Guy!)\, and in 2019 for Traditional Blues Male Artist (Moss) and Instrumentalist—Harmonica (Gruenling). Blues Music Magazine says\, “Nick Moss is a major force in contemporary blues. Dennis Gruenling plays soaring harp…infectious and finger-snappin’.”\nNow\, with Get Your Back Into It! and upcoming North American and European tours in the works\, The Nick Moss Band Featuring Dennis Gruenling will bring their brash and exciting blues to old fans and new. Performing at clubs\, concert halls and on festival stages across the country and around the world\, the band ignites an irresistible musical firestorm onstage. “When we get together\, the music takes over\,” says Moss. “We can’t hold back\, and the energy just comes pouring out. We get carried away and the audience gets carried away with us.” \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Colby T. Helms & the Virginia Creepers
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nAt the bottom of the Southwest Virginia foothills half-a-mile from the nearest neighbor\, 21-year-old Colby T. Helms resides in an “underground house” built by his late father on land his family has owned for generations. Colby first dreamed of making music his life at age 12\, when a group of Blue Ridge Mountain old-time and bluegrass players performed songs like The Ozark Mountain Daredevils’ “Standing On The Rock” and the gospel classic “A Beautiful Life” at his father’s funeral in Boones Mill\, VA. To make his dream a reality\, he taught himself guitar\, banjo\, and mandolin by watching local performers and YouTube videos. On the day he turned 16\, he bought his first car\, a stick-shift Jeep Wrangler\, and hit the road to play anywhere people would have him. A veteran performer in the Blue Ridge/Appalachian Mountains region by age 18\, Colby wrote the songs that would become his upcoming semi-autobiographical concept album\, ‘Tales of Misfortune’\, as a senior in high school. The album delves into the beginning of his story – starting off as a dream and ending with the passing and remembrance of his father. “Higher Ground” is about the choices he has made to realize his dream of becoming a touring musician – and their cost. “Mountain Brandy” brings the listener back to Colby’s home at the bottom of the Blue Ridge Mountains and sets the tone for the rest of the album. “Smoke and Flames” chronicles his experience as a fledgling musician\, honing his craft and searching for validation while still in high school. Album closer “Daddy’s Pocket Knife” cuts the deepest. A true story that also serves as a metaphor for Colby’s own artistic journey\, it reminds us that some things lost can be found. Colby T. Helms will release his debut album on Photo Finish Records in January 2024. He is managed by Dolphus Ramseur and booked by Paul Lohr and John Everhart of New Frontier Touring. \n \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n

SUMMARY:"Tidal River" Film Premiere
DESCRIPTION:$10.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nHeadwaters Down: TIDAL RIVER is a feature-length documentary that follows five friends as they attempt to finish a multi-year project: documenting Virginia’s James River\, one of the most consequential waterways in North American history. \nThe voyage begins in Richmond\, Virginia and continues for 110 miles to the Chesapeake Bay\, with the film crew using sea kayaks to explore the tidal waters of the James. While new insights lie around every bend\, the project meditates on several key markers along the river as the crew experience them in real time: the site of the Kepone Chemical Disaster\, among the worst environmental tragedies in American history; the Battle at Fort Pocahontas\, one of many underrepresented battles of the USCT during the Civil War; the gravely threatened Bald Cypress forests; and Jamestown Island\, where complex histories are still being uncovered as climate change and sea level rise are already washing them away. As the group encounters various struggles on their journey\, they are reminded of the river’s profound presence and its patient march through time. \nHeadwaters Down is a production company based in Richmond\, VA. Founded by friends and colleagues Justin Black\, Will Gemma and Dietrich Teschner. We hope you can join us!! \nThe Dimeslots\, est. 1979\, were born in the W&M freshmen dorm room of Ed Lull and Brian Mount when Bill Williams joined his across-the-hall mates to play some rock and roll. Keyboard player Mike Shields (a teammate of Ed and Brian’s) had already expressed an interest in forming a band and had some bumper-stickers and a farfisa organ. Within a couple of weeks the group started playing regularly in the nearby girls’ dorm Barrett where there was a piano in the lounge…. \nBy the following Fall\, Reid Harrison joined the band and we went “electric”. Before the end of the year\, Neil Sherman and Gary Littlepage joined the band. When Gary left the area\, Bill Grossman stepped in to carry the load. SUMMARY:St. Patrick's Day with Poisoned Dwarf
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nGet ready for our 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day event! Performing on Friday\, March 15th is Poisoned Dwarf! The show starts at 7:00pm. The doors and food truck\, The Pull Up\, open at 6:00pm. Get your tickets ASAP\, this show is known to sell out. \nPoisoned Dwarf is a Celtic music group that plays virtuosic\, innovative and passionate renditions of traditional Irish and Scottish music on acoustic instruments. Five talented musicians create a driving sonic energy that has been captivating audiences for over a decade with whistles\, flutes\, violin\, guitar\, percussion\, and Uilleann pipes together with exciting and lyrical vocals. Poisoned Dwarf performs at a wide variety of musical venues from highland festivals to theaters\, from churches to sophisticated listening venues throughout the East Coast\, to the occasional pub just for fun. \nThomas DeRose \nThomas DeRose has been playing Irish flute for about 20 years. Tom’s music career began at the age of ten when he joined the Colonial Williamsburg Fife and Drum Corp as a fifer. He learned to love music from the British Isles at the Corp and in 1998\, he tried his hand at the Irish flute. He quickly found out that even though the fingering was the same as the fife’s\, the breathing was different. So he launched into a self-guided search for technique. His love of the instrument lead him to listen and learn from the best. The Chieftains\, Dervish\, Lunasa\, The Bothy Band\, Conal O’Grada\, Nomos\, Boys of the Lough\, Matt Malloy\, Kevin Crawford\, Cathal McConnell were his inspiration and mentors. In 2002\, Thomas decided to start a Celtic Band with banjo player Eric Hunter. Soon\, Stewart Pittman joined them on pipes and whistles\, Poisoned Dwarf was born. Personnel has developed and changed through the years\, but the band carries on and continues to play traditional Celtic music in a fun and engaging way. \nMei-Li Garcia \nMei-Li was born in Sevilla\, Spain to a musical family and began playing Suzuki violin at age 3. Her earliest musical experiences included singing and dancing flamenco with her talented musical family and running around Europe with the other band children as her father’s rock band\, Smash\, went on tour. She began studying violin formally with theSuzuki method at age 3\, and as an older child\, studied violin and voice at the Conservatory of Seville\, Spain eventually going on to Major in Music at the Mason Cross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and the College of William and Mary from which she holds a double Bachelor of Arts in Music and History. \nWayne Hill \nWayne Hill has had the good fortune to enjoy a lifetime of music making with family and friends. Along the way his love for chamber music led to a decades long passion for folk music in general and Traditional Irish Music in particular. \nA stroke of luck had him cross paths in early 2005 with a few colleagues at Colonial Williamsburg and their band\, Poisoned Dwarf. Thomas\, Stewart\, Lance\, Eric\, and Cassie were all helpful and patient (!) with his continuing development as a folk musician\, all of whom remain lifelong friends. That trend continues aboard Admiral DeRose’s ship with Patrick and Mei-Li. \nWayne is always 100% “in” regardless of the project: teaching for the Williamsburg Montessori School\, performing\, recording\, composing\, or for his music related work since 1992 for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (including winning two Emmys). \nInspired by the fiddling of Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Tommy Peoples\, the piping of Willie Clancy\, and the Irish Flute playing of Matt Molloy\, Wayne’s personal quest to develop as a traditional fiddler continues while also enjoying the pleasure of music making with PD’s members and their listeners. \nLance Pedigo \nLance Pedigo got his start in his musical life as a young drummer in the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums. After graduating from the program\, he continued his musical studies at James Madison University graduating with a major in Music\, percussion. After some years in New York performing in broadway and jazz venues\, Lance returned to Williamsburg\, VA and took over leadership of the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums Corps for 25 years and manager of the Music Department at Colonial Williamsburg. Lance is a truly versatile musician performing throughout the country as a percussionist with a rock band\, London\, a Klezmer band\, Bagels and Fralox\, and various jazz and Baroque musical ensembles. Lance is a founding member of Poisoned Dwarf breathing life and energy into old tunes with his masterful bodhran playing. \nPatrick Rooney \nDespite being a native of upstate New York\, Patrick found his musical oasis in Williamsburg\, VA. Prior to his introduction to the tidewater area\, he worked as an actor in regional theaters and also worked in film/tv production out of NYC. His musical life began early in church choirs but was truly sparked when he was introduced to the electric bass at 14. Rock n roll was his language until opportunity called him down to Virginia. Within a short time\, he was introduced to Poisoned Dwarf and he hasn’t looked back. With fire in his belly and melody in his heart\, Patrick provides a raw\, driving energy on the guitar and mandolin. \nStewart Pittman \nBorn in Williamsburg and joined the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums in 1990 as a snare drummer. During his time as a juvenile performer\, he played for notable individuals such as Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in 1993 and for the arrival and visit of Jiang Zemin\, the Premier of China\, in 1997. After his tenure as a performer with the Fifes and Drums\, Stewart worked for nearly eight years as a military history interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg’s Public Magazine while attending nearby Christopher Newport University. In the summer of 2006\, Stewart was hired as drum instructor for the Fifes and Drums and as an event coordinator for the department of Historic Area Events. Stewart comes from a family of bagpipers\, and he is a master at all manner of bagpipes and Celtic wind instruments. He can usually be found surrounded by tin whistles\, low whistles and his particular favorite\, the Uilleann pipes. He is one of the founding members of Poisoned Dwarf and is a sought-after performer on the bagpipes and whistles with various Virginia Celtic ensembles. \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n
