SUMMARY:Chatham Rabbits
DESCRIPTION:$20.00 \nBuy now\n\n\n  \nAs one of North Carolina’s most beloved roots music outfits\, Chatham Rabbits has swiftly emerged from the fertile Americana scene in the Triangle. The husband-and-wife duo of Sarah and Austin McCombie favors rustic\, minimalist acoustic arrangements—mainly clawhammer-style banjo and guitar that showcase deftness and maturity with their songwriting. The duo has a way of connecting with their audiences that is warm and universal. Chatham Rabbits’ first album All I Want From You (2019) was recorded with the help of Watchhouse’s Andrew Marlin\, and their sophomore album\, The Yoke is Easy\, The Burden is Full\, released May 1\, 2020. Their song “Oxen” was named one of the “Top Folk Songs of 2020″ by Paste Magazine and the band has been covered by Garden & Gun Magazine\, American Songwriter\, and No Depression. Their ingenuity during the Covid-19 crisis led to the building of their own venue\, The Burrow\, and the creation of their mobile concert experience\, The Stay at Home Tour which took Chatham Rabbits to 194 neighborhoods in 2020-21. The duo is currently filming a new television show for PBS NC\, On the Road with Chatham Rabbits for PBS NC that will premiere in Spring 2022. \n \n  \n \n  \n\n\n$20.00 \nBuy now\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Virginia Homegrown Festival
DESCRIPTION:$30.00 \nBuy now \n\n\n  \nVirginia Homegrown is a festival to celebrate all things Virginia. It is a day full of Virginia music\, vendors\, products\, food\, beverages\, exhibits\, demonstrations and fun for the whole family. Immerse yourself in everything you love about Virginia because Virginia is for lovers!\nHere is the music lineup: \n-Kyle Davis: There was a sheer exhilaration spawning a career that netted Davis success early on. He began recording in his early 20s\, spawning a string of albums — Kyle Davis\, Waiting For You\, Raising Heroes\, Don’t Tell the World\, and River City Gang — that effectively expressed a keen sense of melody\, infectious energy and hooks that sank in quickly and refused to let go. Single “Buried Alive\,” released by Sony Records\, became both a fan favorite and critical sensation. Billboard magazine called him “One of the best unsigned artists and featured him on the cover.” Rolling Stone gave Raising Heroes four stars. Although he’s been described as a cross between Jackson Browne\, David Gray\, Peter Gabriel and Mat Kearney\, he remained his own man\, a singular talent with an extraordinary gift for conveying sentiments that are impossible to deny and even more difficult to resist. \nHe eventually came to the attention of Sony Records and producers Phil Ramone via Don Dixon\, two men whose reputations ranks high on the music business pantheon. Dixon produced R.E.M.\, the Smithereens\, Marshall Crenshaw\, and Tommy Keene\, among many. Ramone’s accomplishments were even more legendary\, given that he counted among his clients Paul McCartney\, Bob Dylan and Billy Joel\, Paul Simon. After driving to Bedford NY to Ramone’s house and playing for him in his living room\, Ramone said\, “I cant say you’re going to be a huge star but I said we’re going to make a great record and we certainly did.” \n \n  \n \n-Jackie & Resa: Jackie & Resa\, known by some as two-thirds of M.S.G. Acoustic Blues Trio\, have over the years developed their own unique sound. Jackie the songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and Resa the arranger/vocalist\, together they bring a distinctive blend of creativity to the acoustic blues community.\nIn 2010\, Jackie and Resa were accepted into the Library of Congress “Americana Women: Roots Musicians – Women’s Tales and Tunes” as part of the MusicBox Project collection (some of which has been catalogued in the American Folklife Center). \n \n-The Tidewinders: The Tidewinders play hard-driving bluegrass\, poignant ballads\, and classic favorites. Featuring the traditional instrumentation of banjo\, fiddle\, mandolin\, guitar\, dobro\, and bass\, The Tidewinders’ sound is classic bluegrass with modern flair. \n \n  \n \n-Tin Can Fish Band: Tin Can Fish Band started as the duo TinFish in 2006\, with acoustic singer songwriter Steve Fisher and long time friend\, Colonial Williamsburg tavern musician\, and mandolin fiddle maestro\, Doug Austin. While primarily performing Steve’s original songs\, TCFB draws from a wide variety of folk\, rock and roots material ranging from public domain and Bluegrass to Americana and World music\, as well as works written and performed by various TCFB members. \nDrummer and percussion player Jack Taggart and (Circuit Rider/Single Bullet Theory) bassist and long time musical cohort\, Keith MacPhee combined with TinFish to form TIN CAN FISH BAND in 2012\, and the band was off and running. Veteran Richmond guitar favorite John Leedes (King Solomon’s Marbles/Squalor Hollow Boyz/Blue Line Highway) joined TCFB in November 2013 followed by Joe Conner (Blues Cats\, Blue Line Highway) on Accordion and keys in 2014 to complete the unique acoustic electric blend. After steadily performing for over five years and putting out 2 CDs\, Tin Can Fish Band’s infectious spirit\, engaging shows and distinctive musicianship is cultivating a strong following in central Virginia and beyond. \n \n  \n \n  \n \n-Anthony Rosano: The Billboard and iTunes Chart toping Blues Rocker Anthony Rosano has drawn comparisons to a wide variety of Artists. From SRV and Rory Gallagher to Led Zeppelin and Bruce Springsteen\, with a fiery live show and songwriting depth that is refreshing to fans of American Blues Rock. \nRosano’s 2017 self released record “Anthony Rosano and the Conqueroos” debuted at #9 on Billboard and made #1 on the iTunes blues chart\, dethroning The Rolling Stones. The record was produced by Mike Zito and featured guest performances by Zito\, Anders Osborne\, and Johnny Sansone. Extensive touring and live shows followed\, culminating in 2019 With Rosano and his “Conqueroos” joining the legendary Bob Seger for a string of opening shows across the eastern United States and Canada. \n“ I want to be an on ramp to the Blues.” Drawing from his influences Rosano mixes traditional Blues and Roots elements with a modern Rock delivery. “You see all sorts of music fans at the shows\, from Blues Aficionados to long hairs with Metallica T-shirts. If I can get that dude in a Metallica shirt to listen to Muddy Waters\, I feel like I am working off a debt to the genre.” This Diversity in appeal has led to slots at LOCKN\, Western Maryland Blues Fest\, and Madison Square Garden. Opening for artists like Samantha Fish and Tab Benoit to Bob Seger \, ZZ Top\, and Gov’t Mule. \nDuring the 2020 lockdown Anthony continued to live stream acoustic shows to his fans through Facebook. “I did it at first just to stay sane\, performing live is something I NEED to do… It’s part of my makeup. I hoped it would help others get some sort of comfort and forget about what was going on for a little bit.” The streams were a success and one of the new songs “Isolation Blues” ended up being used by NPR for “Voice of America”. Other songs followed and along with a new trio\, an EP is in the works for 2021. “I’m really digging the Power Trio format” says Rosano\, “These guys are great to play with and the live shows have been straight FIRE!” Anthony is looking forward to taking the Trio on the road with select festivals booked for 2021 and more on the horizon. \n \n  \n \n  \n\n\n$30.00 \nBuy now\n\n\n
