SUMMARY:Liam Purcell and Cane Mill Road
DESCRIPTION:$20/$25\nBuy now\n\n\nCharacterized by No Depression as “the future of bluegrass”\, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road twine innovation\, tradition\, and excellence into a unique musical experience. Though only in his 23rd year\, North Carolina’s Liam Purcell has already established a name for himself in the world of American Stringband music. Growing up less than a mile away from the legendary guitarist Doc Watson\, Purcell was steeped in Appalachian Old-Time and Bluegrass traditions from an early age. Taking inspiration from the local Deep Gap legacy\, Liam began writing\, performing\, and storytelling from an early age. \nEntering the professional bluegrass circuit during his teenage years\, Purcell formed the stringband-supergroup Cane Mill Road. He would go on to lead the virtuosic ensemble through regional appearances\, building a fanbase across the Southeast and bringing his homespun rapport to some of the most revered festivals in the scene. By the time Purcell was 17\, the project had seen multiple entries on the Billboard Top 10 Bluegrass charts\, performed in 25 states\, and was recognized by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2019 as the recipient of their Momentum Band of the Year Award. \nTickets: $20 advance online / $25 at door. Doors open 5:30 pm. Show: 6:30 pm. Food and beverages available for purchase. Location: 7709 Flat Iron Road\, Gloucester\, VA. Please note: Physical tickets are not distributed. SUMMARY:Jason Morton and The Chesapeake Sons
DESCRIPTION:$20/$25\nBuy now\n\n\nJason Morton and The Chesapeake Sons owes their geographical roots to the Atlantic seaboard\, but its sonic heritage connects the band firmly to The Black Crowes\, the Allman Brothers Band\, Lynyrd Skynyrd\, and the Marshall Tucker Band. With Jason Morton and The Chesapeake Sons\, a 10-track collection on indie Copperline Music Group\, the four-piece ensemble blends effusive melodies\, fierce musicianship\, convicted vocals\, and smart lyrics in a diverse song stew that dips – in Southern-rock fashion – into rock\, blues\, country\, gospel\, and even psychedelia. Jason Morton and The Chesapeake Sons are a talented bunch\, but they’re also a working-class group\, determined to keep a firm hold on the everyday-American spirit at the heart of their music. Tickets: $20 advance online / $25 at door. Doors open 5:30 pm. Show: 6:30 pm. Food available for purchase. Wine\, beer\, and soft drinks are available at the FIX Bar.
