Hailing from the Triangle region of North Carolina\, Mike Edwards and The Banned was known in the 90’s as “the east coast’s favorite cover band”\, playing in a seven-state region and nailing high-production works by the Beatles\, Pink Floyd\, Moody Blues\, Steely Dan\, etc. Bassist George Johnson (Badly Bent Blues Band\, Red Mountain T\, Rockfish) has performed with Mike in rock bands and acoustic duos since the 70’s. Drummer and outstanding vocalist Allen Diffie (Fathers and Sons\, Corky Jones Band\, String Theory) brings gobs of talent and experience (and a very infectious laugh) to the table. This core has united with Marie Grimsley\, a Fayetteville area singer with unparalleled strength and range\, to produce SPANK\, a band that is big on variety and big on FUN!
